To my Sisters in suffering,
My name is Sheri. I am 53 years old and so thankful to be free to witness your "truth". Since the day I heard of your torture I have prayed that you will be witnesses of grace, faith, hope, love, mercy and forgiveness. This is the power that will break the enemies back and sustain you in recovery as you stand poised in healing and "take back your lives" . We profess that we are suffering women who are empowered to do the impossible. Only in Gods hands can we survive and thrive. I pray this for you and those all around the world young and old , male or female who suffer such horrific atrocities. Let us remember the Man of sorrows, Jesus, Who understands suffering and find a safe hiding place in His arms. I too have suffered the agony of violence pepetrated against my God -given right to be human and free. I was 23 years a sex slave in the United States. Your stories of courage are empowering us here in America to "stand up and tell". Keep up the good work, and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I turned to God at 23 years of age and I met a man who " cared , shared and loved me" and we have triumphed and been victorious in a marraige of 30 years with 8 children and two grand kids. Sending great big hugs your way and the hope of a peaceful tomorrow.

But, I cannot and will not tolerate evil at this level. Pure evil cannot be negotiated. Senseless crimes of inhumanity will not be tolerated by good folk nor a loving God who engages intimately with men and women across… Continue

My comment to you ladies is that "you are greater than your suffering"! "God is greater than your suffering"! And, "life and the will to survive is greater than your suffering"! I bless you with healing, restoration, joy and strength. We are all joined together in this fight for "life".

As the violence in the Eastern DRC continues, your support & your voice are critical. Hundreds of thousands of women and girls have been raped, and thousands more are at risk every day.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT , let the women of the Congo hear you, speak out against this violence, send your message of hope, empowerment, change and victory.

CHANGING THE STORY
Join V-Day’s global campaign STOP RAPING OUR GREATEST RESOURCE: POWER TO THE WOMEN AND GIRLS OF DRC and bring much needed attention to the needs of Congolese women and girls.

The atrocities being perpetrated against women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo are nothing less than a femicide.
